President Uhuru was received in Parliament buildings by his Deputy William Ruto, but in a rare occurrence, the two did not shake hands.
Instead, the President bowed with his hands clasped together as a form of greeting, which he did to all leaders present including Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka and his National Assembly Justin Muturi.
President Kenyatta has fallen out with his Deputy since the former opted to support ODM leader Raila Odinga for Presidency in the August 9 polls.
