Police officers have become more immortal against the law and are now torturing suspects to death.
Yesterday, a police constable was nabbed for allegedly torturing a 45-year-old woman to her death over a bribe.
Directorate of Criminal Investigations detecives arrested a police constable who tortured a 45-year-old woman to death over bribe in Nairobi County.
According to police OB reports xx/33/03/11/2021 at Kasarani Police Station at around 9am on Wednesday morning, the suspect is said a chang’aa brewer reportedly refused to give kshs1200 bribery to the officer.
The police constable later arrested the woman and hid her inside his own house where he tortured her to death.
The officer later transferred the body of the woman to Nairobi City mortuary and registered it as unknown.
The DCI after getting the wind of the matter swang into action, only to find out that the suspect was hiding the woman in his house where she was reported to have died.
“We are serious about this matter. We want to make sure that the perpetrators or killers of the deceased are brought to book. We are not going to condone anybody,” the DCI said.
According to police reports seen by the press, the woman sustained serious injuries on her ribs, some bones broken a clear indication that she was tortured to death.
The body is still lying at Nairobi city mortuary where a planned postmortem is scheduled for Friday.
