Babu Owino Message To Uhuru Over Maraga Whinge

Embakasi East legislator Babu Owino yesterday sent a message to Uhuru Kenyatta after Chief Justice David Maraga’s remarks that laid major differences between the Judiciary and the Executive.

“I wish to appeal to my seniors, H. E the
President and H. E the CJ to exercise wisdom and sobriety for the sake of the
people of Kenya. When elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers.”

The outspoken lawmaker cautioned leaders against fueling the rift between the Judiciary and Executive, claiming the ordinary citizens are the ones who will be affected in the long run.

On November 4, Chief Justice David Maraga lamented to President Uhuru Kenyatta that the cut on the Judiciary budget was hurting its functionality and that it could no longer afford its daily operation needs including basics such as WiFi.

Babu in defense of the embattled CJ Maraga demanding CJ to be given the respect his office deserves, stated,

“The Chief Justice is a senior and respected member of our society and we will protect both the institution and the individual by hook or by crook! CJ must be respected.”
