Police in Machakos County have launched investigations into the rape and murder of a 94-year old woman in Kangundo.

Area sub county police commander, Benjamin Ong’ombe said the elderly woman lived alone in her house in Kivaani village when she was attacked by a gang that broke her walls and gained entry  into her house.

Members of the deceased’s family who got curious after she failed to wake up Thursday morning were in shock to find her house locked from the inside and part of the wall pulled down.

The police commander told the press that when they eventually gained entry into her house, they discovered the granny had been raped and killed and a section of the wall destroyed.

The body of the victim was moved to Kangundo Level 4 Hospital mortuary as police carry launch investigations into the incident with no suspects apprehended so far.
