Embakasi West leaders reemerge as Ruto launch projects

Deputy President Dr. William Ruto Thursday toured parts of Embakasi West Constituency where he launched classrooms and projects built or refurbished by funds from the National Government and CDF coffers.
Accompanying the DP were local leaders and MCAs led by the ear Mp. George Theuri. Theuri whose is ‘swag’ was of course dressed to kill but has been accused of minimal performance. Together with the Uhuru –Kariobangi South Ward MCA Robert Mbatia, Theuri has been accused of favoritism.
Residents of Kariobangi South have accused the leaders of commissioning and launching serious projects in Umoja and Uhuru and refurbishing a useless toilet in Kariobangi South.
They are active in social media, posting photos showcasing fashion or helping poor families for more likes and retweets. Millenium came with a lot including ‘instagram leaders’ but this is dangerous for our generation.
How do these people who engage us through a whatsapp group, facebook or tweeter keep us busy that we will see development as the real change brought by this emerging leadership that is basically young?
These people are not serious. Should we be kept busy by the most ‘swagful’ or closest to political bosses who command numbers like Dr. Ruto? Real work should count and favoritism is not real work. Criteria should favor all, residents from Kariobangi South deserve good roads, ‘cabro’ and sorts just like other neighborhoods.
Some places did not benefit from the changes by the new constitution and review of boundaries, and Kariobangi South is one. Since the merger with Uhuru ward, residents have seen development in social media. Like some sections are ‘profiled’.
A Kariobangi South resident who preferred to remain anonymous alleged that Mutarakwa sections are neglected because majority of the residents are from the same community and that community votes opposite.
That sad story is overshadowed by social media fashion show and BBI talk. BBI is addressing the positions at the top, not the government, cabinet and parastatals having the face of Kenya.
These young and fashionable leaders are either attending rallies or not but they are too confused to take positions or address the ‘noisy document’ head on. They are confused, can’t read and can’t make decisions; they are waiting to be directed. Kariobangi South residents elected to go and show case fashion in parliament and social media.
Why does it take local leader the visit of a senior or prominent leader to see his people?
