A senior police officer, Chief inspector William Chepkwony was found dead on a chair in a bar in Bombolulu, Nyali Sub County .
Inspector Chepkwony was attached at the Dock Section in Kisauni Sub County where gangs have been breaching security and terrorising locals.
On Sunday morning more than ten people survived with serious injuries after their homes were attacked by young men armed with daggers and machetes.
while confirming the death of Inspector Chepkwony, Kisauni OCPD Julius Kiragu has said that the slain officer was on duty but he declined to confirm whether he was armed or not.
The deceased officer was in uniform when he met his death. He had no signs of physical injuries and investigation have been launched to establish the cause of his death.
His body has been moved to the Coast General mortuary with postmortem scheduled to follow.
