Akothee aka The Boss Lady came to the rescue of renowned Ohangla artist Lady Maureen who has been ailing for a while and took her to Jaramogi Oginga Teaching and Referral Hospital after she was rejected by her family.
Akothee explained that it is Maureen’s uncle who offered a piece of land for the ‘Jaber Kanyako’ hit maker to build a house.
“I spoke with Maureen’s family, and she is at her uncle’s who has accepted to give her a piece of land to build a home for herself and my mother will be going to Pap Onditi in Nyakach on our behalf to brief on us on the reports on the ground,” Akothee said in a social media post.
Lady Maureen was discharged on February 20 but she had nowhere to go to since her family disowned her.
KB has discovered that the singer’s mother has been reluctant to her in following family quarrels and old traditions that would further complicate things in case of her demise.
Lady Maureen has been under the care of one Nancy Achieng’ who has again offered to take care of the Ohangla maestro after reading Akothee’s Facebook post.
Achieng’ stated that the song stress is now stable and only needing help to at least walk around.
There have been plans to rent a house where she can be taken care of but that has been impossible due to lack of enough funds.
Even after she was, discharged, she had no place to go until her cousin Fredrick Odhiambo picked from hospital after news reached him.
