Drama ensued last night at the residence of Joshua Kutuny in Hardy, Karen Nairobi after a lady by the name Joyline Chemutai stormed the residence of the MP demanding child support for their 3-year old daughter.
Kutuny according to the police threatened to shoot Joyline who was forced to scream attracting the attention of nearby police officers who rushed to the scene. Upon arriving at the MP’s home, they heard a lady screaming “Thy want to kill me”. The officers were forced to shoot in the air. According to the OCS Hardy Police Station, Kutuny will be charged with misuse of firearm and attempted murder once investigations are over.
The incident happened on Wednesday at around 1 am. Police have since commenced investigations. Kutuny was briefly arrested and detained at Hardy Police station but was later released. It’s not yet clear why he was released but his Ceska pistol was confiscated for analysis. Members of the public irked by police laxity in the case have called for immediate re-arrest of the legislator.
According to the police officers, Joyline Chemutai accused Kutuny of abandoning their 3-year old baby. She says she will be moving to court to compel the deadbeat father cater for her child.
Joyline, the lady said that her attempts to reach the vocal BBi campaigner on phone has been futile as Kutuny does not answer her calls. The Cherangany legislator also blocked her on Whatsapp. It is at this point Joyline decided to storm his residence at the wee hours of the night.
“Kutuny has not been picking my calls. She has blocked me on WhatsApp. All I need is for him to take responsibility for our daughter as he promised”, Joyline Chemutai told Daily Star on phone. Joyline, a fourth-year student at the University of Nairobi says she has been forced to dropped out of school as she is unable to cater for her studies.
Kutuny has been a fierce critic of DP William Ruto and one of the lead BBI campaigners in Rift valley together with Elgeyo Marakwet governor Alex Tolgos. He is expected to be the MC in Nakuru BBI rally on the 22nd of February.
