Popular online personality Scophine Aoko Otieno, self-dubbed the “Luo Maverick” has been banned from Twitter.
The firebrand feminist writer famed for barely mincing her words had amassed thousands of followers before her account suddenly disappeared from the platform at the beginning of this week.
Her suspension comes just days after she made headlines for her strong political views against ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga and his Azimio La Umoja brigade.
In the months leading up to the August 9th election, she switched her allegiance from Baba’s side where she stood for many years and publicly declared her support for His Excellency (H.E) William Ruto’s State House bid.
As expected, the decision to cross to the other side of the divide quickly earned her political foes largely made up of individuals with whom she previously shared similar values.
This set the stage for an epic battle of words between the straight-shooting political science student and Raila’s online troops.
And if anyone loves a verbal duel, it certainly is Aoko Otieno.
Following the successful election of His Excellency (H.E) William Ruto as the fifth president of the republic, Aoko simply could not hide her joy and relief.
She rushed to social media to let her haters know that it was a mistake to let her go.
In a series of Twitter posts, she rekindled memories of how she was painfully rejected by the losing camp, despite selflessly offering her services; sometimes free of charge.
She accused top men surrounding Raila of turning down her endless requests to be part of their team, only for them to dismissively belittle her presence.
None of the “big boys” could see beyond her flesh.
According to Aoko, it was only within the yellow wave that she found a safe haven.
Once the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati announced the Presidential results, Aoko’s Twitter timeline was a bloodbath.
One after the other, she went for the heads of Raila’s most trusted men, casting all their dirty linen to the limelight.
She had a lot to get out of her chest and spilt major tea from her insider knowledge working in and around the online communication operations of Raila’s campaign.
By the time she was done, the casualties ranged from outgoing Deputy Minority Whip Junet Mohamed, ODM Chairman John Mbadi, CAS David Osiany, Twitter economist Reinhard Asamoh, ODM blogger Dikembe Disembe, MCA Robert Alai, resident NIS snitch Gabriel Oguda, among others.
She portrayed them as loud, unintelligent men with loose zippers who only stick by Raila’s side for the sake of feeding their growing list of concubines.
According to Aoko, beyond the frequent sex for favours, the Orange House officials have nothing much to offer.
She even claimed to have receipts of top Raila men that have been thirsting on her over the years.
Others, she alleged, have secretly sired children outside wedlock.
Not even Raila’s family members were spared.
The stand-out revelation by Aoko involved Raila’s daughter Winnie.
Winnie is already being trolled hard for jumping the gun and planning for a State House wedding reception, even before the presidential results were announced.
But she was perhaps not ready for what Aoko has put out there into the world.
Aoko claimed that Winnie is a closeted gay who lives with a lady who was infamously spotted misbehaving on TVs across the country misbehaving at the IEBC Bomas of Kenya Tallying Centre.
In another post targeted at Winnie, she once again stated clearly what she thinks her sexual preferences are.
Below are some of the tweets that have since been wiped from the platform.
