Kenya Just received a batch of 25,000 kits for testing coronavirus, these kits were donated by China’s billionaire Jack Ma through his Alibaba Foundation but reports from the Czech Republic which received a similar donation earlier state that the kits gave false results 80pc of the time.
A Czech news site iROZHLAS on Monday (March 23) revealed that 120,000 out of the 150,000 kits of the much-touted traunch of Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) rapid test kits “donated” from China would be faulty, forcing healthcare workers to rely on conventional laboratory tests.
Although Kenyanbulletin cannot confirm these reports, sources say the kits are faulty and when Czech doctors tried using them the tests yielded both positive and negative results on the same patients.
Andrej Kozlowski, who is a University of Warsaw professor was one of the first to share the information on their twitter account in English:
The Czech Republic received 150,000 coronavirus test kits from China. About 80% of the tests give false results.

This is bad news for Kenya coming after the World Health Organisation last week cast doubts on the coronavirus numbers in the region, arguing that they were too low compared to the magnitude in other areas since not much testing was being done.
