The following is a naration on how armed gunmen attempted to rob a pedestrian along Milima road, Hardy.
Yesterday, at around 10.45am, while on a walk along Milima road, a bodaboda pulled up next to me. It’s passenger threatened me with a gun demanding my phone.
The bike had passed me a few minutes earlier. When he passed me a second time, it did a three point turn at a gate, it’s passenger hopped off and came towards me demanding my phone.
He reached to the back of his blue shirt and took out a metallic grey pistol.
I don’t walk with valuables and I didn’t have my phone and told him so. He cocked the gun and demanded the phone once more.
I repeated what I said. At this point the bodaboda was behind me so I was standing between them.
The gunman searched my waist looking to see if a phone was tucked in my trousers.
Thankfully by this time an askari a few meters away saw what was happening and raised the alarm.
The robber hopped on his bike and took off. I am thankful that I was unharmed.
Both he and the rider were wearing masks and head gear (hat for the gunman and a yellow helmet for the rider) so I can’t identify them.
I did however memorize the number plate. It was a red boxer registration KMFG 082F.
I have reported the incident to Hardy Police Station and also Ultimate Security patrol.
Please be careful out there. Leave all valuables at home and stay alert.
