Bolt Launches Food Delivery Service “Bolt Food” in Nairobi

[ad_1]

After earlier launching the service in South Africa and Ghana, ridesharing app bolt has launched a food delivery service in Nairobi named Bolt Food. The launch in Kenya comes after President Kenyatta announced lockdown measures that require restaurants to offer take-away services only, presenting an opportunity for food delivery players.

“Food delivery has been a popular request for quite some time, and we are glad to bring this service to the millions of people who are using our platform,” said Bolt Food Country Manager Edgar Kipngetich Kitur.” The infrastructure and experience we have built up with our ride-hailing business give us a good platform to expand and diversify our services.”

Like its peers, the service will deliver food using motorbikes. However, the platform will also have deliveries on Skateboards and bicycles.

Customers will have to download the Bolt Food app, a separate application from the ride-sharing app. The service currently offers access to 200 restaurants in town, including KFC, Big Square, Pizza Mojo, Urban Gourmet Burger, Debonairs Pizza, Steers, and Bao Box, among others.
Bolt Food is available for users in Parklands, Highridge, Spring Valley, Lavington, South C, South B, Westlands, Kilimani, Kitisuru, Upperhill and Valley Arcade.
