A middle-aged man was stabbed to death after a disagreement over a woman at a local market in Chepalungu Sub-county in Bomet. Residents said they woken up by a commotion from the room, where the woman was living with her lover.
“The supposed husband arrived and found his wife with another man in the house. A quarrel ensued and quickly degenerated into a fistfight, with the man claiming to be the woman’s husband stabbing his rival,” said Samson Ngetich.
Mr. Ngetich is the assistant chief of Itembe sub-location where the incident occured. Locals who rushed to witness the drama the found the man lying on the ground, with a bloody knife still lodged in his body.
The suspect fled to escape attack from the hungry crowd that was gathering, but Bomet County Police Commander Naomi Ichami said he surrendered yesterday morning.
The body of the victim is at Longisa Hospital mortuary as police continue with further investigation.
