Former multiparty champion and businessman Lawrence Nginyo Kariuki has died. His family announced his death at the Agha Khan Hospital on Monday morning.
The late Nginyo Kariuki was an astute and successful business mogul behind Nginyo Towers on Koinange Street, Nairobi and Lenana Hotel.
He will also be remembered as a long standing politician who was instrumental in Kenya’s push for multiparty democracy and as the founder member of The National Alliance Party (TNA) that sponsored President Uhuru Kenyatta to State House in 2013.
He is credited for pioneering African golf in Kenya.
