Cosmo Choy begs for forgiveness

The leader of the Abagusii community in the U.S Cosmo Choy has been forced to issue a public apology to the family of President Uhuru Kenyatta for his recent abusive remarks against Mama Ngina Kenyatta.

On his Facebook page, Choy who is an ally to Deputy President William Ruto, now claims he did not mean to insult Kenyatta’s matriarch stating that it is just politics.

He alleges that he was defending DP Ruto, whom he claims to have been made a topic of discussion in a recent political forum.

“I am here to apologize to the Kenyatta Family, Mama Ngina Kenyatta and President Uhuru Kenyatta. I am sorry for the remarks that I made a few days ago. I didn’t mean it. Mama aliingia siasa na akaongea juu ya Ruto na mnajua napenda Ruto lakini siasa ni mbaya.”

“I do apologise. Pole sana kwa familia, pole sana mama we ni mama wetu. It is something sweet to have a mum alive, I lost my mom and I will never see her again so pole sana.  We are human beings and we make mistakes and we forgive each other,” he said in a video posted on his Facebook page.

The apology comes as backlash over his unprintable spat intensifies. He is also set to contest for Embakasi East’s MP seat in the August 9 polls.

These are some comments from Kenyans:

Victoria Sweeney – “It’s high time we demand respect from these politicians, using a woman’s private parts to put her down or embarrass her shows how low some of these politicians are willing to stoop for political mileage.”

Francios Lusaka – This is rutos goon, handler, mtu wa mkono, show me your friend and I will show you, your character. These are the company he keeps, when he went to America less than a month ago, he was welcomed by this goon. The guys surrounding lootall are land grabbers, wash wash, money laundering crew, guys who rape women and disrespect women. If elected this country will be worse than it is now.”

Andove Atsango – “Mama Ngina should show mortherly hood by not taking sides, but bringing the country together.

She has messed anyway, but insults are not good against her.
We should excuse her, she may be losing memory slowly by slowly because of age.
If you ask her she may not remember what she said.”

Peter John – “Politics is a dirty game and mama Ngina should keep off politics. Let her son fight his own political battles. Kudos Cosmo for the apology, but don’t relent in your fight against the worst political leadership in Kenya since independence.”

Mwas Harm – “A mother loves her children either good or bad. If mama ngina was a real mother. She could have a stand on a neutral grown. Alimpenda Ruto Sana zile days alikua akisupport kijana yake”
Mburu Stephen – I can’t stop to question the character of some of the UDA aspirants, DP Ruto as much he needs to have a threshold of character before admittance to aspirancy, the other one from Utawala was caught with stolen cattle.”
Andrew Mugorwa“should be somewhere answering questions coz that’s a total disrespect not only to mama Ngina but to all ladies including his mother, grandma sisters and aunts.”

Maina Wakili – “MAMA NGINA IS WRONG

It is unfortunate that the only time we have heard the voice of the mother to the president is when she is defending her son. Why didn’t we hear her when homes of poor Kenyans were being demolished and Mothers, children, fathers, sons slept out in the cold?
Where is her voice now when the price of food in Kenya is becoming expensive, and continues to rise? Where is voice about cooking gas prices which have gone beyond the reach of ordinary Kenyans?
That was a wasted bullet from the very first lady who should be a balanced mother to all of us.
May God remember those who have no one to speak for them.”
