Three Kenya Power employees have tested positive for COVID-19 disease in Mombasa.
A statement from the firm dated June 2, 2020 said the trio are currently receiving treatment and psychological support under isolation.
“Employees working on the 1st floor of the building and the banking hall have been requested to stay at home for a period of one week awaiting test results and health check clearance before resuming duty,” said the company MD Bernard Ngugi.
Following the three positive cases, all staff on the 1st floor of Electricity House in Mombasa have been tested for COVID-19.
According to the MD, this is to prevent potential spread of the disease.
He further noted that the building has been fumigated under supervision by the Health Ministry.
“Even as we take these actions, I encourage all staff to continue adhering to the government measures in containing the spread of the virus,” he said.
