Keroche Breweries owners Tabitha Karanja and Joseph Karanja have been arrested over alleged Sh14.4b tax evasion following orders from DPP Noordin Haji.
The DPP yesterday sent out a request to the police to arrest the couple.
Keroche responded by calling the allegations a witch-hunt and the tax amount ‘a figure that is baseless and without facts’
The statement from Keroche concluded by posing a question, ‘is it criminal for local investors to do business in their motherland? And’ does this country favor the foreigners only?’
