DCI detectives based at the JKIA have confisticated Heroin enroute France. The consignment was stashed in buttons of clothes from Juba and Entebbe were headed to France and Cambodia.
DCI boss George Kinoti said the operation was led by a team of elite officers who saw the confiscation of unestablished amounts of the dug.
“The search conducted at Cargo Shed in DHL Warehouse led to the recovery of two suspicious consignments,” DCI Kinoti said.
“..the first one described as clothes for personal use and on transit from Juba to Cambodia, while the second had a dress concealing the bhang enroute to France.”
Kinoti explained that after opening the first consignment, three blouses each with eight large buttons and three skirts each having 17 buttons were found.
“….where on dismantling the buttons each was found to contain a powdery substance which upon testing turned to be heroin. Both consignments seized with further investigations ongoing.” he added.
Heroin, a dangerous drug that makes the brain produce feel-good dopamine has become cheaper, purer and more easily available today.
