Dennis Itumbi tears into DCI with tough question

Digital Innovation Secretary at State House Dennis Itumbi has questioned why the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has been directing for the arrest of Jubilee-affiliated governors as the war against graft gains momentum.

In a tweet on Friday, Itumbi questioned why he is yet to hear governors affiliated to Orange Democratic Movement, Maendeleo Chap Chap and other parties being arrested and charged in courts of law over the loss of funds.

This is after the court barred Governors Waititu Ferdinard (Kiambu), Moses Kasaine (Samburu) and Mike Sonko of Nairobi from office over graft.

“I agree, maybe I am wrong. There is no @TheODMparty Governor that is suspected by anyone of being corrupt. Maybe, @DCI_Kenya is right, ODM, @MCC_Party, @anc_party Governors ni weupe kama pamba! Jubilee Governors ndio suspects!” he tweeted.

Itumbi’s remarks come after the court of appeal upheld the decision of the High Court to block governors linked to graft from office.

While delivering her ruling, Justice Jamila Mohammed said that governors associated with corrupt dealings must face their law. She asked other courts to ensure that the county bosses are charged over the same.

Waititu and Kasaine had made public their plans to run parallel offices after they were barred from their headquarters.
