A demonstration organised by Murang’a politicians to denounce Kiharu legislator Ndindi Nyoro and his senator Irungu Kang’ata for voting against the building bridges initiative report in the national assembly and senate respectfully turned ugly after the duo marshaled their supporters to confront the demonstrators.

Ndindi Nyoro
According to highly placed sources, a local politician allied to the Kielweke wing of the Jubilee Party backing Uhuru Kenyatta, using one of his aides, organised the demonstration to denounce the two leaders for voting against BBI Bill in the national assembly and senate respectfully. The politician is eyeing a top position in the post-Uhuru government. Sources revealed that on learning that a demonstration against them was being planned, Nyoro and Kang’ata called their allies in Murang’a town and instructed them to organise youths to disrupt the demonstration. The pro-BBI youths marched along Murang’a town streets denouncing Nyoro and Kang’ata for disrespecting the president by voting against the BBI bill.

Irungu Kang’ata
They carried placards dismissing the two Tangatanga allied legislators as sellouts. But the situation turned ugly when the pro-BBI demonstrators ran into the group hired by Nyoro and Kang’ata leading to an altercation that led to kicks and blows. The youths descended on each other as they defended their position giving onlookers a dose of free action. The ugly melee left some youth nursing injuries. Nyoro, in a tweet, accused the deep state of stage-managing “fake demonstration knowing too well people are tired of the shenanigans”. Early last week, Nyoro was among three MPs ordered to report to the national assembly chambers to answer to allegations of disorderly conduct.

Alice Wahome
The Kiharu MP, his Gatundu South counterpart Moses Kuria and Nyali’s Mohamed Ali faced allegations of issuing disparaging remarks against their colleagues. The Kiharu MP and his Kandara counterpart , Alice Wahome, are firmly in the deputy president’s camp. For Kuria, he faces expulsion from Jubileee for insubordination. The decision to expel Kuria is owed to the fact that he fronted George Koimburi as a candidate in the May 18 Juja by-election. Koimburi is vying on Kuria’s People’s Empowerment Party against Jubilee’s Susan Njeri Waititu.
