Deputy President William Ruto, on Friday, broke his silence after a humiliating defeat in the Kibra by-election held on Thursday.
The DP took to his twitter account to congratulate the ODM candidate Bernard Imran Okoth for emerging victorious.
Ruto took the opportunity to congratulate the Jubilee Candidate McDonald Mariga and their supporters for daring to contest in a region perceived to be their competitor’s political bedrock.
“Pongezi Benard Okoth for Kibra. Congrats Mariga, Team Jubilee & supporters for daring the so-called ‘bedroom’, braving the chaos/violence, to double our vote from 12%(2017) to 26% now.
Our competitors came down 78% (2017) to 52%. They retained the seat we have served notice,” tweeted Ruto.
