In July this year, the court barred Governor Ferdinand Waititu from running Kiambu County until his corruption case in Sh588 million tender saga is heard and determined.
The embattled county CEO says being out of office has also helped him to focus on personal matters and family.
“Being out of office has helped me go to different places for holidays. I have been able to travel to many beautiful places to refresh my mind away from the normal political life. I had some time with myself and am ready to resume duties when the court allows. Politics make leaders forget about having time for themselves. That moment is very important to help anyone maintain a good state of mind with which they will work for the people,” said BabaYao.
On Sunday, Waititu confirmed his change of mind over the BBI and the Uhuru-Raila handshake and said that he is fully behind the initiatives citing the recent Mt Kenya leaders meeting as the reason for his current stance.
“I am now officially in support of the handshake and the BBI 100%. However if it will propose more positions in the executives, appointments should be done before elections to avoid political betrayals from the leaders.”
Waititu is alleged to have a wife in every town based in Kiambu county. Most of his clandes run mini-supermarkets and grocery wholesales. Baba Yao has looted Kiambu in every corner, he pretended to be fighting illicit liquor but what has come out is the fact that he was creating a supplies monopoly. For everyone running wines and spirits in Kiambu county, they are forced to buy drinks from specific stores that are Waititu’s.
Waititu wives are also said to be the cartels running issuance of the liquor and business licenses. Competition from where the governor’s side chicks have set their businesses is not allowed and applicants don’t get their licenses approved. The cartels are deep in the county structures and are running things even in the absence of Baba Yao.
