The bodyguard of Githunguri MP Hon. Gabriel Kago shot and killed a night guard in the wee hours of the night for declining to open the gate during odd hours to buy alcohol.
The constable shot the guard after a heated argument ensued between them. The victim was the rushed to Radiant Hospital where he succumbed to gunshot wounds.
Kiambu Deputy County Commander Lazarus Wambua confirmed the incident adding that the officer has been arrested and put in custody as police conducts further investigations.
The officer also caused a scene when he refused to open his room for nearly two hours before surrendering to fellow officers. The killer bodyguard is currently being held at Kiambu Police Station.
The incident happened hours after Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman disclosed that two people died after a bar fight on the first day of reopening the bars.
“It is sad and alarming to note that, just a day after His Excellency the President sanctioned the reopening of bars, two people died yesterday while fighting in a bar here in Nairobi,” Aman said.
