Buruburu based Metropolitan Hospital is accused of neglecting a patient so as to add to the hours he’ll spend at the hospital so as to charge more.
The family of Calvin Ochieng Apamo, who died on the 8th February 2022 rushed him to the hospital the night before but he couldn’t be treated though doctors had already diagnosed a serious issue; a blood clot in his brain.
Mr Ochieng is said to have slipped and fell in his bathroom after complaining of exhaustion.
The 39 year old died later as doctors, instead of rushing him in the theatre for further attention, had unnecessarily placed on the wait list, as his condition deteriorated.
Sources intimated that Metropolitan Hospital is fond of making a patient spend some time in the hospital, sometimes even without any good reason and so they’ll delay any operation on a patient or delay their checking out so as to click the added time for more profits.

Calvin was in perfect health from birth until 6th February 2022 when he complained of a severe headache asked for a painkiller and proceed to wash his face to cool down. He then collapsed and was rushed to Syokimau Health Centre with the help of a friend and neighbors where he was found to have suffered a high blood pressure and was stabilized then later referred to Metropolitan Hospital where a scan was done and found to have a blood clot in the brain. This was confirm to be as a result of a ruptured ventricle in the brain that was brought about by the high blood pressure. He then underwent a surgery to remove the clot He remained sedated and in a comma for 24 hours and was later said to have high temperatures. his blood pressure was low and his heart rate was low. The doctors said he was in a critical condition and they had problems stabilizing him. On 8th February the hospital called the wife to say he was in critical condition they were trying to resuscitate him. He went to be with the Lord on the sameday at 5:30am.
