Ngere boys school head boy killed by fellow students and a Headboy after he allegedly reported their plan to burn the school dormitory.
So far, at least 10 schools have reported cases of suspected arson since learning of students and pupils in the institutions resumed on January 4.

The latest school to go up in flames was Kipsoen Boys High School in Elgeyo Marakwet county reported a similar incident.
The fire incident reported early on the morning of Wednesday, January 27, marked a continuation of a worrying trend of school fires.
Kipsoen’s fire came just hours after another inferno reduced to ashes dormitories at Itigo Girls High Schools on Tuesday, January 26.
At around 11am on Tuesday, a new dormitory at Kisumu Boys High School was burnt. Though the cause of the fire was unknown, detectives believed it was a case of arson.

Cheborge Boys High School
A dormitory at this school in Kericho county was burnt on January 20.
Kimulot Boys High School. At around 5am on Monday, January 25, a fire was reported at a dormitory at Kimulot Boys High School in Bomet county.
Kapsogut Boys high School. This school in Bureti, Kericho county reported fire incident on January 19.
Kirimari Boys Secondary School. A fire incident was also reported at Embu’s Kirimari Boys Secondary School on Saturday, January 23.
Bukembe Boys. A section of Bukembe Boys High school in Bungoma county was destroyed by a fire on January 25.
In the same county, at least three schools, Chesemasi, Kimilili and Khasoko, experienced cases of students unrest. Learners went on the rampage and destroyed properties of unknown value. Among grievances the students had include lack of entertainment.
Mukiuru SchoolM. Mukiuru School located in Meru was set ablaze on January 6.
Kituro High School. A dormitory at this Baringo school went up in flames on the evening of Sunday, January 24.
Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) banned the use of bottles hand sanitisers in school. Mogoha said some students were using the bottles and their contents to start fires.
On Monday, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti issued a warning to learners asking them to avoid taking part in criminal activities like arson or attacking their teachers.
Earlier today, KNUT chair nominated MP Wilson Sossion has said he will oppose reintroduction of corporal punishment in Schools.
