Frank Otieno, a senior reporter at KTN News, was on Sunday Morning, May 31, taken hostage by two gunmen who made away with his car
“I have been carjacked at gunpoint. Two pistols one on driver’s seat and the other on co-drivers in Mlolongo and my KBK 727K Nissan Tarreno 2 4WD Green at 0022hrs,” he tweeted at 1:31 a.m. on Sunday morning.
At around 9:30 a.m. he announced that he had tracked down his vehicle down to Mlolongo Police Station, however, the senior reporter stated that he was not in a position to divulge any more information at the time.
“The car is safely parked at Mlolongo Police Station. The motive of the carjacking not clear. Thanks, pals for the support,” he shared on twitter.
The former Swahili teacher who joined KTN back in 2007 was happy to announce that he had survived the nerve-wracking ordeal unscathed.
Coincidentally, almost exactly a year ago, Otieno’s counterpart from NTV, Ken Mijungu, had released a statement stating that his Toyota Prado Prado VX registration number KCP 199Q had been stolen.
The suspects reportedly made away with the car on June 13 at 9:40 p.m. outside Nation Centre on Kimathi Street, Nairobi.
