KenGen looking for a new CEO to succeed Rebecca Miano

The Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) has started looking for a permanent CEO to replace Rebecca Miano, who joined the Cabinet.

Abraham Serem now serves as CEO and Managing Director of the power generator in an acting capacity as of October 28, 2022. The position has been advertised by the board of the power generator.

Serem replaced Miano, who left after being named by President William Ruto as the Cabinet Secretary for the East African Community, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands, and Regional Development.

Serem served as the Nairobi Securities Exchange-listed company’s general manager of human resources and administration until his appointment on March 1, 2016.

The position holder will be accountable to the Board of Directors for providing strategic and visionary
