Patrick Adera Oduor, the National Chairman of the Kenya Pharmaceutical Association – KPA has been suspended.

RE: SUSPENSION OF MR. PATRICK ADERA ODUOR FROM THE OFFICE OF THE KPA NATIONAL CHAIRMAN.

Reference is hereby made to a show cause letter sent to you on 26/4/2020 referenced CCMC/05/04/2020 demanding that you show cause why disciplinary action should not be taken against you for the charges stated in the show cause letter. You were given 14 days to respond but at the lapse of the 14 days ultimatum, you failed to respond to the show cause letter and the Central Council is forced to proceed with disciplinary action against you.

Pursuant to article 4.0 sub-article (i)and 4 8 sub article (iii) of the KPA constitution, The Central Council can suspend or remove a NEC member from office after issuance of 14 days notice period to a member to state his/her case.

The Central Council has followed the KPA Constitution to the letter throughout this process and therefore states as follows:

  1. That you Mr. Patrick Adera Oduor, stand suspended from the office of the National Chairman of Kenya Pharmaceutical Association with immediate effect. You are therefore barred from transacting on behalf of KPA; any engagements, correspondences, transactions and contracts, entered through you forthwith will remain null and void.
  2. That for the interim period, the office of the National Chairman of the Kenya Pharmaceutical Association will be held in trust by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Kenya Pharmaceutical Association pending the resolution and ratification of the AGM.
  3. That the Central Council will put a public notice through the major dailies to caution any stakeholders from transacting with you on behalf of Kenya Pharmaceutical Association.
  4. That in the interim period all the engagements, correspondences, transactions and contracts entered by the association with other stakeholders must be ratified by the Board of Trustees of the Kenya Pharmaceutical Association and the Central Council.

Conclusion;

That the Central Council will institute disciplinary action against you Mr. Patrick Adera Oduor, through the KPA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee, and The Pharmacy and Poisons Board Ethics and Disciplinary Committee and/or criminal charges through the office of the Director of Criminal Investigations for any criminal charges.
