As the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta gains momentum, Deputy President William Ruto has hired Kenyan musician Nadia Mukami to head Creative Committee that is tasked with choosing his advisory team member.

On Saturday, April 25, 2021, DP Ruto held a meeting with stakeholders from the creative industry where he revealed that he had a plan to bring on board the creative artists into his advisory team.

During the meeting, Kenyan Musician Nadia Mukami was selected to lead her team in the creative industry in choosing an individual among themselves to represent them in Ruto’s advisory team ahead of 2022 elections.

This was revealed by Mukami’s manager, Lydia Nyakera who noted that the singer will not disappoint Ruto based on her background in finance.

“Currently, as you know the meeting
happened yesterday, a lot is yet to be discussed. Once something is concrete,
we will be able to share

“Of course she is going to do it well as you know she is a very smart woman, and she has a background in finance. That meeting will bear good things for the creative,” Nyakera stated.

Nadia holds a degree in BBA Finance from Maseno University
where she also nurtured her musical career.

Mukami’s role was revealed during Ruto’s meeting with the Artists among them Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones.

At the meeting that was held at the DP’s residence in Karen, Nairobi County, the Artists requested the government to create a special fund aimed at supporting them especially during difficult times.

“In our meeting, we also
discussed the possibility of coming up with a policy that will help weed out
bureaucracy, brokers, and impediments that slow the growth of the industry.

“We acknowledge that artists have worked hand in hand
with the government and appreciate their proposal to assist in confronting the
pandemic. We welcome their offer to reinforce the campaign on the observance of
Covid-19 protocols and vaccination drive once it is rolled out fully,”
Ruto noted.
