Khalwale- Echesa fights causing cracks in Ruto’s Luhya camp

The recent fight between former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and ex-CS for Sports Rashid Echesa during the burial of the late Matungu Mp Justus Murunga is causing wider cracks and confusion in DP William Ruto’s camp in Luhya land.

Echesa told mourners that Khalwale was the man behind the late’s lover (Agnes Wangui) who went to court to stop the burials until DNA samples were taken to aid paternity test.

The controversial Echesa revealed that Khalwale was extorting the MP’s lover by demanding Sh200k for the case to be dropped.

The two politicians are fighting over positions around the DP after a section of Tangatanga followers from Western also accused Khalwale of creating a fence around the DP to bar other leaders from the region.

Echesa prides himself as the man who has taken every Luhya politician to the DP including Khalwale and Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala among others. He told mourners that he took a broke Khalwale to DP after had been abandoned in the political cold.

“My brother Khalwale with due respect, I am the one who held your hand and took you to Ruto’s office,” Echesa said.

Khalwale who recently led a delegation of African Church of the Holy Spirit members to Ruto’s home in Sugoi home behind Malava MP Malulu Injendi was also accused of side-lining Luhya MPs in Kibra after Ruto gave him millions to campaign for Macdonald Mariga in 2019 mini polls.

The sidelined Khalwale who wants to be the next governor of Kakamega is now plotting sponsor MCAs against sitting MPs in 2022.

He has already psyched Chegulo/Butali Ward MCA Kelvin Mayelo to go for Malava parliamentary seat in 2022. The seat is currently held by Malulu whom he left behind when he went for DP’s allowances.

DP who is aware of the wars and confusion has asked the leaders to iron the differences to make his forays into the vote rich region count.
