The ‘Kieleweke’ faction of Jubilee Party allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta still have their guns on the allies of DP Dr. William Ruto in the ruling party.
Deputy secretary general and Soy MP Caleb Kositany is now the next target as Kieleweke seeks to complete the removal of DP’s allies from the party leadership.
Jubilee Party was formed on a 50-50 basis between President Kenyatta and DP Ruto but the last four months, under the cover of the Covid-19 pandemic Kenyatta has weakened his DP’s side.
The party’s Vice chairman David Murathe has accused the Soy lawmaker of being disloyal to the party leader and undermining Secretary General Raphael Tuju.
Murathe stressed that that can not be tolerated and the party must be put in order.
“We will discipline anyone seen to go against party ideals and who disrespects the party leader. And this includes the deputy secretary general. No one will be spared disciplinary actions where necessary,” Murathe said.
The new NMC comprises of Prof. Marete Marangu, Walter Nyambati (former Kitutu Masaba Mp) Ms Lucy Nyaguthii Macharia, Ms Jane Nampaso and Mr James Waweru.
NMC team is responsible for the purge in the party. Ruto’s wing had protested its inclusion, claiming they were not consulted.
Ruto’s side (Tanga Tanga) even protested to the Registrar of Political Parties through letters but their efforts bore no fruits.
On friday, Kositany told those whom are planning his ouster to go ahead and execute their plan while claiming that the party leader is yet to convene a NEC meeting.
“Let them go ahead. When we formed the party, we had noble intentions, to unite the country and build a firm, developed and cohesive country. That dream was hijacked by busybodies. In any case, I am fighting with my consciousness on whether I should continue serving a party where even my little idea is not recognised or listened to,” Kositany said.
