KOT reacts after a man lost a stalled car in 5 minutes

The Kenyans on the interwebs went berserk after it was reported that a man had lost his stalled car in less than five minutes.

In a scene that looks like a movie, the directorate of criminal investigation narrated how a man lost his car just minutes after he went to look for a mechanic.

A man whose vehicle had broken down forcing him to leave it by the roadside as he went in search of a mechanic, was shocked to find it missing, minutes later.

Stephen Kamau, was heading to Murang’a from Maragua town early this morning at around 2am, when his motor vehicle stalled in the middle of the road. He parked it by the roadside and decided to keep vigil inside the vehicle a silver toyota hiace, as he waited for early morning mechanics to open their doors for business.

At around 5am, the man alighted from the vehicle and walked towards Mukuyu where he hoped to find a mechanic. However, along the way he discovered that he had left his type c phone charger inside the vehicle and decided to go back and get it.

Kamau was shocked beyond words, to find his earlier broken down vehicle missing. How it disappeared from where he had left it 30 minutes earlier, baffled him.

Crestfallen, he walked to Murang’a police station and sought the assistance of our detectives. Should you have come across a silver toyota hiace registration number KCA 264L.

Here are the reactions from Kenyans on Twitter, KOT.

Ibrahim Gedi: The story doesn’t add up, if it was surely stolen after 30 minutes here are the questions…

1. Why would the thieves wait for him to take off from 2am to 5am if they were really there. The simplest time they can steal is late at night not towards dawn. It’s easy for them because he was alone.
2. They said he decided to remain vigil but later on needed a charger type C … Didn’t he charge his phone during those periods. Don’t forget he was able park the car by the road side so it can charge
3. If the. Car developed mechanic problems how was it stolen?
4. If the car was really stalled then how did he parked by the road side. It should have stopped where it was coz engine isn’t functional. It’s either this person wants compensation from insurance or miracles do happen….

Nicholas Peter: Sounds like a movie? How did they manage to disappear with a stalled vehicle? The level of crime in Kenya is alarming. In USA cars are parked at the streets and nobody will dare touch it! The level of crime in my motherland makes me afraid of doiy anything in Kenya! Does it mean I must build a garage where I will be locking my car when I will be visiting the village? Is this this how bad it has become! Ohh God help my mother land.

Ndirangu Mbogo: Well, well, well, well, methinks this guy is trying to cover up for a bigger crime by trying to create a false alibi, the three hours duration was probably meant ensure the ‘coast is clear’ for his accomplices. The OB report he made is probably just a decoy to distruct you from the real crime.Sanitize your hands because you might be dealing with a smooth criminal!

Calvin Dashieli: Just the other day in Somaliland, the people who were exchanging dollars and selling pure gold worth of millions would leave their businesses unmanned and go to mosques to pray for several hours… Kamau tried the same by leaving his car for only 30 mins, the rest is history

What do you think, was the car stolen or the owner is seeking an illegal compensation claim?
