Africa’s best player and Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has shown incredible generosity to his country Senegal by donating Sh 5.1 million (£41,000) to be used in containing coronavirus outbreak.
The 27-year-old soccer star sent the money to Senegalese health authorities fighting coronavirus in his home country.

Senegal has reported 27 positive cases but this figure is continuing to rise with flights to and from France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Algeria, and Tunisia now completely suspended.
A twitter video in which Mane was urging his countrymen to take serious precautions and wash their hands with disinfectants was shared by his agent who also revealed that the player made a spontaneous decision after he saw the evolution of situation.
Mane’s agent shared a twitter video of the Liverpool forward urging his Senegalese compatriots to take the virus ‘extremely seriously’ and also to wash and disinfect their hands to prevent the virus from spreading.
It is not the first time Mane has sent money back to his home country, just last year the decorated footballer bank rolled the construction of a mosque, school, hospital and a sports stadium worth over £250,000 in his hometown of Bambali as a give-back initiative.
While still in Bambali at the age of 13, Mane watched Liverpool’s famous comeback to win 2005 Champions League against AC Milan.
In 2018, a video went viral in social media showing Mane cleaning toilets at a mosque in Liverpool.
The superstar is currently training from home as a precautionary measure against the spread of the virus.
Liverpool is now 25 points clear at the top and only two wins will secure their first Premier League title, but no more fixtures will be played, may be until early April due to the coronavirus pandemic.
