Award-winning media personality and Classic 105 radio presenter has finally given his Kiss 100 counterpart Felix Oduor alias Jalang’o a heads up in his bid for the Lang’ata Constituency Parliamentary seat in the next general election.

Speaking during a host on his you tube show, the Maina and King’ang’i show presenter went ahead to pledge his support for the fanny man, giving him one condition to help fund his campaign.

Promising to pull an equivalent of Oprah Winfrey in the Obama endorsement, Maina urged Jalang’o to vie on an independent ticket in order to finance his 2022 campaigns.

“I will give you money and I will be at your rallies because I am not at the beck and call of some party leader,” the presenter promised.

“Oprah pulled her strings and made sure he spoke at that democratic convention which moved people. She brought in people she knows to endorse him. His dream began with Oprah,” Maina said.

Maina however warned on the nature of Kenyan politics as it never encouraged divergent opinions, adding that he risked conformity with other politicians as well as being broke.

“If you go into Jubilee or ODM, your thinking must conform with the thinking of the people at the top. Anything outside that and you’re branded a rebel, so suddenly the Jalang’o we know getting into politics won’t be the Jalang’o we see.

“Look at Moha, we were hiring that fiery guy to go make noise in Parliament to advocate for change on certain things across parties for the good of the country then….Look at our friend KJ who I love more than life, but he had to conform because that is how politics in Kenya works which is so sad,” the Classic FM presenter concluded.

Jalang’o is the latest media personality to show interest in politics, after a list of other successful aspirants in Sabina Chege, Granton Samboja, Gathoni Wamuchomba, Raphael Tuju, and Naisula Lessuda among others.
