Mbooni Sub-County Hospital in Makueni has been enhanced by a donation from the Safaricom Foundation.
On Thursday, Makueni Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili accepted medical equipment valued at Ksh 1 million aimed at improving healthcare services at the facility.
The donation, presented by Safaricom Foundation Chair Joe Ogutu, includes nine ward beds, two-room heaters, two baby cots, a delivery couch, a treatment trolley, a 50-seater tent, and 25 chairs.
This equipment is expected to boost the hospital’s ability to provide quality healthcare to the community.
During the handover ceremony, Deputy Governor Mulili spoke about the role of strategic partnerships in mobilizing resources.
She noted that these collaborations are essential for aligning with the county’s vision and advancing the County Integrated Development Plan.
Safaricom Foundation Chair Joe Ogutu praised Makueni County for effectively using previous donations and reaffirmed the foundation’s dedication to impactful projects through strong county partnerships.
Mulili also acknowledged Safaricom’s ongoing support in various government services, including M-Pesa payment integrations and internet access.
She expressed appreciation for the continued assistance, which has played a vital role in enhancing government service delivery.
