Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has been without a Deputy for close to a year now.
His previous Deputy Polycarp Igathe has since taken a job at Vivo Energy, the second one after spending some time as the Managing Director of Equity Bank.
MIKE Sonko the theatrician delayed appointment of his Deputy till today through political outmaneuvering of the Kikuyu Mafia who wanted him ‘dead’ according to him so that their own can take over. Due to these and many other threats, he moved to Machakos County, and operated Nairobi from his father’s farm.
Sonko at some point, after being pressured, forwarded the name of self-styled NRM General Miguna Miguna, who is in Canada after being sedated and deported by the Jubilee regime in 2018.
Jubilee became wary of Dr. Miguna Miguna fearing he would start a revolution following the disputed 2017 elections which most Kenyans consider a sham anyways.
Jubilee was saved by the handshake between opposition leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta in March 2018.
Miguna was rejected by the Nairobi county assembly, and Sonko bought more time.
In today’s daily nation newspaper owners by Nation Media Group (NMG) a Nairobian by the name Philip Sogoti has advertised for the job the of Nairobi’s Deputy governor.
He says he has over 15 years experience in public service and he is ‘driven by strong conviction that he can make significant contributions to improve Nairobi city.
He vows to exceed expectations.
