A lady officer has anonymously reported a police officer Johnstone Ipara and a Mr Kiplangat for sexual harassment.
The two named officers are attached to the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).
Despite the reports, the CBK and the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai are accused of ignoring the issue.
The harassed female officer sent the following to activist Boniface Mwangi.
Hello Bonni, am glad that you have brought the issue of senior police officers sexually harassing female officers and more so their juniors in Kenya police. It’s a pretty known thing in the police, there are other two known figures, Johnstone !pare and a Mr. Kiplangat attached to Central Bank of Kenya. Kiplangat believes he is untouchable, the Governor met with the female officers in his office apologized to them promised action and so far nothing has been done. Intact Kiplangat was and moved from CBK and he is back there. I wonder what the governor is doing. I hope IPOA will do something this time round but what I know the female officers won’t be spared, that is Kenya police for you. Sex pests in the police are known. There’s another legend who chews them and moves them to the traffic.
