Moran Lounge a popular club in Nanyuki is on the spotlight for extorting from its customers.
A victim of the extortion reached out to Kenyanbulletin.com with some saucy revelations about the criminal activity going on in the lounge.
Our source revealed that the head bouncer at the club only known as Mr Amos has formed a cartel with shameless police officers to extort from civilians who come to have drinks at the club.
As soon as visitors walk in, settle and order for drinks, they send boys to provoke the visitors which will definitely result to a fight or something worse, thus is now where the police will come in and arrest whoever the visitor is.
In one instance witnessed by our source, a couple from Nairobi went to the club after attending a wedding in Nanyuki. They walked in settled and had drinks.
As they walked out one of the ‘boys’ part of the cartel touched the wife inappropriately and it resulted to a confrontation between the ‘boy’ and the husband.
All set and ready police walked in and arrested the couple alongside a friend whom they had tagged along.
They were taken to Nanyuki Police station where our source was called the following morning to aid in the release of the couple and the friend.
Upon arrival of our source, ‘he’ was referred to a man said to be from DCI.
The DCI man revealed that they are cartels and that they do that every weekend, he said that they must provide Ksh. 20,000 each to secure the couple’s release. When asked for cash bail the DCI man said that Ksh. 15,000 each will do.
They arrived at their agreement , they took the couple’s fingerprints and surprisingly they charged the couple with child neglect, public disturbance and fighting.
All these happened as the police who arrested the couple and a friend were no where to be seen.
Their fingerprints were later discarded after a man only identified as Mr Sang asked for Ksh. 40,000. They paid and left the station.
