Mumias East Member of Parliament Benjamin Washiali has resurfaced after details of his disappearance on Friday Night.
On Sunday afternoon, ‘missing’ Washiali appeared in a safe and sound state after a one day mission by police who were looking for him.
In a press briefing, the legislator described the Friday night incident that led to his disappearance into thin air.
He said that a number of police officers approached his gate on Friday night in a Land Cruiser that lit his bedroom.
The MP who was on a high alert over his safety acted promptly by running through the back door.
“I knew my time had come, that is why I escaped through the back door, to the bush next to my house,” said Washiali.
“I stayed there for about one hour and fifteen minutes when I received rescue from a taxi driver, a friend of mine,” added the MP.
He further said that the taxi driver drove him to Kisumu where he spent the rest of the night, and later on took a flight back to his family.
His allies, who are legislators linked to Deputy President William Ruto had earlier on reported his disappearance as a plot by Pro-BBI team to eliminate him after he opposed the report.
They went ahead to state that Washiali had received a threat through a phone call.
However, Washiali himself reputed the claims saying that he had not received a phone call of that kind.
