A matatu conductor plying Uthiru-Nairobi routes has been charged with indecently touching a female police officer’s cleavage.
Kibra Senior Resident Magistrate Renee Kitagwa heard that the victim was waiting to board a matatu at Uthiru terminus on July 3, when Samuel Mburu sexually molested her.
The court was told that there was a near disagreement between the two after Mburu requested the officer to board his matatu but she settled on one of her choice.
The woman said the tout was irked by the fact that she had preferred a competitor’s vehicle prompting him to grope her breast without her consent as well as insulting her.
The cop reported the matter and later on tagged her colleagues who arrested the suspect at the same location three days after the incident.
In his defence, the accused claimed it was female passenger who turned out to be an officer who assaulted him first thus provoking him to act in the manner he did.
Though he denied any wronging, he will face charges relating to the section 11 of the sexual offence act.
The court freed him a bond of KSh200, 000 or a cash bail of KSh100,000 pending hearing and determination of the case.
The senior resident magistrate set July 16 when the matter will come up for mention.
