A new detail has emerged of the Kitengela quartet that went missing after having lunch out at a popular joint, with one of them found dead in Murang’a County earlier today.

This is after the body of Elijah Obuong was reportedly found in a morgue in Murang’a with the police reporting that the body was picked near a river.

The body of Obuong was found by sand harvesters near Mukungai River along Murang’a road from where it was taken to the mortuary.

His body was later identified by his brother Michael Amollo who reported that the body had no visible injuries.

“The body does not have any visible injuries, although we still don’t know who booked in the body at the facility,” said Michael.

Confirming the incident, police now say the man could have been killed elsewhere before the body was thrown into the river.

The authorities are currently trying to piece together the developments,
citing the incident as a possible
breakthrough in the case of the four men who are described to have lived
largely.

Obuong 35, alongside his three friends Brian Oduor, 36, Jack Ochieng 37, Benjamin Imbai Amache, 30 went missing on Monday, April 19, 2021, after having Nyama Choma in Kitengela.

Their car, a white Toyota Mark X, was later found abandoned at a parking lot about 500 meters from the club the following day.

The four came to the limelight after police records from the DCI revealed that they had last year arrested one person bearing the same name as one of the missing Kitengela 4.

“Seven members of a notorious criminal gang which on Saturday, January 11, 2020, broke into and stole Ksh 900,000 from a parked car at a Car Yard along Ngong Road was today arrested by DCI Kilimani Detectives.

“The gang who also posed as customers parked alongside the victim’s car before breaking in and disappearing with the money, but were caught on CCTV cameras. Upon CCTV analysis, the @DCI_Kenya detectives launched a manhunt for them and today managed to arrest; 1. Benjamin Imbai Amache aka “bena”,” the statement on DCI social media pages indicated.
