Newly appointed Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa has received a heartfelt message from her wife Jemimah Ndegwa following announcement of his new position.
Ms Ndegwa, through her Facebook page, showered praises on her husband, acknowledging him as an experienced and hardworking man.
“My dear, you always tell me that there is no short-cut to ‘real’ and ‘lasting’ success. Your appointment is proof that hardwork, commitment and integrity pay off,” she began.
“I have experienced first-hand the long hours and your commitment to self and others to achieve great things,” she continued.
She further congratulated her husband for being a risk-taker and having admirable traits.
“You have taken risks, going to challenging markets but the experience you have gained, sets you apart, I know, just as has been the case, integrity and humility will continue to be your trademark in this new role,” she added.
Mrs Ndegwa concluded by assuring her husband of her blessings and full support.
“We, your family, will continue to support you and pray for you. For exaltation does not come from the East, the West or the South, but from God,” she concluded.
Ndegwa and his wife are blessed with a 10-year-old son.
His appointment comes after the former Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore’s death on July 1, 2019.
Collymore succumbed to Leukemia at the age of 61 with his predecessor Michael Joseph taking over on an interim basis.
