NSE Daily Equity Turnover rises 59% to KSh 757.9 Million

Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) recorded an increase in turnover by 59% to KSh 757.9 Million when trading closed this Monday, 24th May 2021.

NSE top price gainer

Top price gainers were led by Car& General Kenya Plc, whose share price rose by 10.00% to close at KSh 24.20. Other gainers were Safaricom Plc ( 5.70%), HF Group Plc ( 4.70%) and Flame Tree Group Holdings Plc ( 4.44%).

The worst performing counters were led by Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc, whose price declined 8.69% to KSh 8.20 per share.

Other top laggards were Uchumi Supermarkets Plc which was down 7.69%, TPS Eastern Africa Plc which shed 3.33% of its share price and East African Cables Plc, whose price declined 2.96%.

The top movers were Safaricom with a volume of 8.5 Million traded shares, Equity Group Holdings Plc (2.6Million), East African Breweries Plc (1.36Million) and Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc (558,300).

The benchmark All-Share Index (NASI) gained 6.44 points to close at 172.20. The NSE 20 Share Index gained 1.53 points to close at 1860.40, while the NSE 25 Share Index gained 104.68 points to close at 3691.12

The derivatives market had 80 single stock futures contracts valued at KSh 2.87 Million concluded, compared to the 92 SSF contracts valued at KSh 2.86 Million ended during the previous session.

The secondary bond market had bonds worth KSh 4.05 Billion transacted in 100 deals compared to KSh 4.24 Billion worth of bonds achieved in 96 deals at the prior session.
