Orange Democrat Movement has trashed the attempted ouster of Minority Whip Peter Anyule Imwatok at the Nairobi County Assembly saying it did not sanction such moves.

In a letter to Assembly Speaker, Orange Democratic Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna says that the changes did not originate from ODM.

“A communication purporting to effect changes to the leadership of the minority in the assembly of Nairobi City County Assembly has been brought to our attention. Kindly note that the Party has NOT made any changes to the leadership and the same did not originate from us.” The letter reads.

“While my office attempts to ascertain the propriety or otherwise of the actions taken, we urge that the status quo be reverted to immediately,” Sifuna said.

The faction which was led by Kennedy Oyugi of Highrise today installed Nicholus Okumu as the assembly whip.
