Oguna shares his experience with Covid-19

Government Spokesman Cyrus Oguna has shared his near-death experience with COVID-19 through a series of tweets saying he experienced excruciating pain in his chest that made breathing difficult.

“The storm struck that very same night. I suddenly woke up in excruciating pain in my chest. Breathing was extremely difficult & any effort to do so felt like a bayonet was being driven through my chest. I was literally gasping for air,” Oguna tweeted.
Oguna explained that days before he tested positive for COVID-19 were some of the longest but he put on a strong face despite experiencing challenges.

He recounts an instance when he travelled to Mombasa and back to Nairobi while experiencing the symptoms associated with the virus despite testing negative.

He also claimed that contact tracing after testing positive for COVID-19 was not tedious as the majority of the people he had come into contact with were mainly in clusters.

“I am however unable to ascertain If all other individuals were contacted. It’s several weeks, and I can only assume that they are all well” Oguna said.

He experienced difficulty in breathing, he could not speak clearly with medics alluding that his lung function function had severely been compromised as a result of acute Pneumonia to an extent that without oxygen he would not survive.

The government Spokesperson thanked the medics for a good job and for taking care of other COVID-19 patients noting that the PPEs are uncomfortable and the job is risky.

Oguna tested positive on July 24 and was released from the hospital a month ago and still experienced occasional breathlessness, lack of taste and smell.
