Yesterday, the government announced that a 6-year old child who had other complications had succumbed due t COVID-19 virus.
There’s panic at the country’s biggest referral hospital, Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
A staffer at KNH who spoke on condition of anonymity told Kenyan Bulletin the following
“The child who died at Kenyatta hospital yesterday might have infected so many doctors as there are not enough protective gear for them. We have begged for them for too long. The CS (Mutahi Kagwe) is preoccupied with press conferences. We are willing and ready to fight but not willing to be suicidal. Suicide is illegal in Kenya”, She said.
Kenya currently has 122 confirmed cases of the virus, 8 cases have been closed with 4 recoveries and 4 deaths.
One of the dead is a 66-year-old Kenya Airways pilot, Rtd Captain Daudi Kibati, whose burial is underway.
Among the known cases of recoveries are Brenda Cherotich and Brian Orinda.
Kenyans have doubted the case f the two recovered patients.
