Felix Orinda popularly known as DJ Evolve has opened up for the very first time since a shooting incident involving Embakasi South MP Babu Owino at a local bar.
Barely inaudible, Orinda told NTV that he has improved since the January incident but explained the shooting incident left him immobile and traumatized.
“I have needed medication to help me sleep, I have had flashbacks from that day and it is traumatizing,” he said.
Lying feebly at home where he is under the care of his mum and nurses, Orinda who previously worked magic with his hands can only manage to move his fingers only slightly.
“I cannot be able to move my hands past unfolding my fingers, so when I do not have them, I cannot do much as they were my tools of trade, I cannot work,” he added.
At the same time, Orinda’s family says they are yet to hear from the Embakasi MP despite reports on local tabloids that the MP had reached out to the family for an-out-of-court settlement.
“I saw reports on the newspapers that I had talked to Babu, those are lies because I have not spoken to anyone, this incident left me devasted and I only speak to God,” Orinda’s mum said.
On forgiving the Embakasi MP, Orinda says he has left that to God and is currently waiting to see what the justice system will decide.
Owino, whose real name is Paul Ongili, is said to have drawn his gun and allegedly shot DJ Evolve, who was reportedly unarmed.
The incident is said to have occurred at the popular B Club in Kilimani estate, Nairobi.
Police say the lawmaker argued with the DJ, before he drew his gun and shot him on the neck.
Questions abound as to why the MP was allowed into the club with a firearm.
