The Lord Erroll Restaurant in Nairobi’s high-end Runda Estate has been closed following the floods that have hit parts of the Nairobi County.
A statement posted on the exclusive restaurant’s social media accounts did not outline on when the hotel would be back in operation.
Photos posted on social media showed that the entrance to the restaurant, the grounds and the building itself had been covered in flood waters.
The Moi family acquired the Lord Erroll hotel in 2013 and after renovations it was opened to the public.
The hotel has so far won awards in the hospitality industry as well as reaching the four-star status.
Lord Erroll is named after a British aristicrat who was murdered and buried in the graveyard of St Paul’s Church, Kiambu.
The Brit was executed after having an illicit affair with Lady Diana Broughton, the wife of British aristocrat Sir Jock Broughton.
