Deputy President William Ruto’s wife, Rachel Ruto held a special prayer for Kibra by-election candidate Mcdonald Mariga.
The prayer was held at the newly opened prayer altar at DP William Ruto’s residence in Karen ahead of the hotly contested Kibra by-election.
Mrs Ruto posted the photographs on Facebook captioned,
“McDonald Mariga visited us this Wednesday at the National Prayer Altar during our weekly prayer and fasting fellowship.”
She went ahead adding that,
“We joined together in prayer as we all wished him the best as he runs for the seat of a member of parliament for Kibra constituency.”
Mrs Ruto also posted a series of Bible verses to inspire the former footballer and also asked him to put his trust in the Lord, be a prayerful man and leave the rest to God.
DP Ruto has been in the forefront to campaign for the Jubilee candidate in Kibra although they have faced harsh criticism from their rivals ODM.
On Sunday the DP spoke of a now-or-never situation and told Kibra people they are being given the opportunity to make the changes by voting for Mariga.
“Kibra will never remain a hotbed of violence, a slum, a place synonymous with poverty… We will never be lied to again,” he said.
Dr Ruto cited development projects in the Nairobi constituency, which he said Jubilee will continue with under Mr Mariga’s leadership.
