The recent exciting academic gender war between girls and boys took another turn yesterday with the release of the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education results by Education Cabinet Secretary, George Magoha.
Earlier on, during the release of the KCPE results, girls decimated their male counterparts, taking almost all the top positions. However, as yesterday’s results were released, boys appeared to have redeemed themselves, taking six positions out of the top ten spots.
Simiyu Robinson Wanjala of Murang’a High School took top position with a mean grade of 87.

The following positions were as follows;
6. Kipkoech Kogo – Alliance High School – 87.106
7. Kenneth Oranga – Kapsapet Boys – 87.049
8. Madaga Henry – Maranda High School – 87.046
9. Chepkorir Patience – Kenya High School – 87. 046
10. Musomba Edith Kisei – Machakos Girls – 87.013
As for the schools, a similar pattern was again followed.
Out of the top ten positions, boys schools scooped six spots.
Although the top two positions went to girl’s schools, courtesy of Kenya High School and Alliance girls, the following three spots went to boy’s schools. The list of the best performing schools was as follows;
1. Kenya High – 10.76
2. Alliance Girls – 10.65
3. Kapsabet Boys – 10.60
4. Maranda Boys – 10.57
5. Machakos Girls – 10.48
6. Mang’u Boys – 10.33
7. Kaaga Girls – 10.31
8. Alliance Boys – 10.30
9. Agoro Sare Boys – 10.22
10. Chinga Boys – 10.12
